Search Ethics

There are numerous ways to optimise a website so that it ranks highly in the major search engines. Unfortunately, not all are considered ethical.

Search engines have guidelines and these need to be followed unless you want to run the risk of being banned or removed from the Search Engine listings.

Visitors also have expectations and ethical SEO will not result in site visitors getting any unpleasant surprises. How many times have you clicked on a Link in a search result and been taken to a completely unexpected page? This is known as 'bait and switch', just one example of an unethical SEO practice.

At webpro, we do not make unsupported claims about the process of Search Engine Optimisation.

We comply with the following code of ethical practice:

All our SEO activities are performed and implemented after receiving clients’ approval.

We will not intentionally violate any rules published by the search engines or directories.

Search engine users will not be misled by the information presented by the search results.

We will not intentionally mislead or offend a visitor who uses a search engine.

We do not use SPAM SEO techniques or black hat techniques to improve search engine rankings or to get quick results.

We will not set unreasonable client expectations and we will not guarantee or promise placement and results that are beyond our control.
